 1.4 参观博物馆是最好的方式去了解一个国家

Visiting the museums is the best way to learn about a country. (091025CN=081012CN)

As not sufficient with their physical demand, more and more people try to know more about the novel things, like the culture of a country. Comparing with visiting the museums, going on a journey may be a better choice.

On the one hand, the goods in museums are not enough and changing in time, which couldn’t reveal the culture of a country overall. On the other hand, the noisy and crowded environment will truly influence visitors’ mood. For instance, I went to The World’s Fair(世界博览会) in Shanghai with my three roommates in 2010. I hadn’t realized the pressure of population until we waited for two hours to get in the museum about Africa. I could see nothing but people and expensive handicrafts.

Taking a trip is more helpful, I suppose. Not only can you know about the country more deeply, but also release your pressure(释放压力)from company or school. For example, last summer I went to Alps Switzerland with my parents. It is very cold up there in August. We were on the top of Europe and the view was so amazing. We lived in a small village in Alps, not like other villages, which is a sleepy village with more caws ringing bells than people. People there are very friendly. I have made some great friendship and they even invited me to their party at night. I couldn’t tell the specie of them, but all kinds of Alp cheese are tasty. And in distance, the sound of haunting of Alpines reminds me how comfortably men and nature mix in Switzerland.

Therefore, going on a journey should be considered as a more efficient way to learn about a culture than visiting museums. During the journey, you could learn the culture by eating the traditional food, living their daily life, and watching the grand scenery. All these real precious experiences are what you cannot acquire from museums.(328 words)

大虾范文 Some people believe that a museum is a permanent institution in the service of a society and of its development, and thus it is the best place to go if one wants to learn about a new country. However, I hold the opinion that traveling around a country and meeting the local people is the best way.

Given that the things exhibited in a museum are the records of a country’s historical events, they are just passive evidence and they can never tell the visitors the story actively. For example, when some foreigners are visiting a museum in Shanxi, China, they may see a big bronze bell in the exhibition hall. The description may say that the bell was made in Qin Dynasty and was used for religious purpose. However, since the bell is in the museum, no one is allowed to touch it. Visitors can only take look at it and then walk to the next item. Instead, if the same foreign visitors go to a temple in Shanxi, they will find a similar bronze bell. Not only can they knock on it the to hear the sound, but also they get to watch the monks do their morning or evening ritual with the bell. Therefore, a museum gives visitors the look of a country, while a travel provides a lively experience.

Furthermore, learning about a country is more about knowing about the present than about the past, and a museum is mostly about the past tense while traveling is always in the present tense. Has anyone ever heard about a smart phone museum? Of course not, because smart phones are the latest inventions. No one puts the smart phones in a museum, but people use them on the street. When visitors come to China, they see people using smart phones to listen to music; they see them video chat on the phone; they see them playing games or watching films on the phone. Therefore, only by traveling in person can visitors get to know what the local people are doing at this moment.

In conclusion, for visitors to know about a country, traveling in person is certainly much better than paying a visit to a museum, because the journey provides both a vivid experience and a fresh taste of the country’s current development.
