 四级写作真题与模拟 题范文 ( 一) 正反观点型

 1. Should the University Campus Be Open to Tourists? The past years have witnessed a phenomenon that some famous universities in China have become scenic spots for tourists. Yet people’s opinions differ sharply on this issue.

Some assert that it is a good thing. They say that opening college campuses to tourists will add significantly to common people’s understanding of universities. This is especially important for those high school graduates who are going to be enrolled in college. Besides, universities can make money by selling tickets to sight-seers.

Others, however, hold the opposite view. They point out that too many tourists on campus will disturb students’ daily life and study. Moreover, universities and colleges are places to educate high-level talents rather than places of interests to make profits. Actually, both sides have something right. Personally, I believe that we should not go to extremes. We can allow people to tour universities and colleges, but we should restrict time and the number of tourists. For example, we can set College Open Days, when people can be allowed to travel on campus.

2 .The Spring Festival Gala on CCTV There is no denying the fact that it is a hotly debated topic in China today whether the Spring Festival Gala on CCTV should be held. To this issue people’s attitudes differ sharply. Some hold the positive view. They say that most of the programs are attractive and fascinating, especially the short plays and comic dialogues. Besides, the gala provides a chance for the entire nation to celebrate the Spring Festival together. Without the gala, we would miss the atmosphere of reunion. Many others, however, hold the opposite view. They claim that the Spring Festival Gala on CCTV should be abolished. The gala, in their opinion, has become monotonous. Instead, they advocate that people celebrate the Spring Festival in other ways. For instance, people can take the chance to go traveling and relax themselves. Or they can have an outdoor carnival.

As far as I am concerned, I believe that the Spring Festival Gala on CCTV should go on. Anyway, we can hardly find an alternative that can bind the whole nation together. Those who dislike the gala can well choose other ways of celebration, but they have no right to deprive others of the opportunity to enjoy it.

  3. Is It Up to Students to Evaluate Teachers? Reports have been frequently heard about universities allowing students to evaluate their teachers and even decide if they can stay on their positions or not. To this practice, people’s attitudes differ a lot.

On the one hand, some people are totally for this approach of evaluation and state the following reasons. In the first place, they assert that students are the people who know the most clearly about the teaching performance of a teacher, so they should have the say in evaluating him or her. In the second place, they contend that students have paid for their education, so they have the right to decide which teacher should be employed.

On the other hand, however, others point out that it is dangerous to leave the right to students

to evaluate teachers. For one thing, students may not know what ought to be taught and how it should be taught; they may only judge a teacher according to his temper and even accent or appearance. For another, in order to please students, some teachers may resort to some improper means.

Personally, I believe that both views are justifiable, and we should achieve a balance between them by employing the evaluating approach in a reasonable and beneficial way. To be specific, students should be allowed to evaluate their teachers, but they may not be the only decision-maker in the teachers’ fate.

  4. My View on Studying Overseas at an Early Age Studying abroad has been a long-standing phenomenon and topic for discussion in China. In recent years, it seems to have gain more momentum. A number of parents send their kids abroad to study even when they are just pupils.

Views are sharply divided on this issue. Some are strongly in favor of the practice. They harbor profound hatred against existing educational philosophy and mechanism at home and just worship and long for western, especially American, style of teaching.

Others, however, demonstrate deep concern about studying abroad at an early age though they are equally aware of the drawbacks of domestic education. What they mainly worry about is kids’ ability to live alone and adaptability to cultural differences. Actually, they have seen or heard about many failures in this aspect.

Personally, I believe that we should give a simple yes-no answer to this question. It is really up to the kid’s personal conditions. But basically, I tend to object to sending kids abroad as primary students; it is more preferable to do so when they are in junior middle school and it is most advisable to send them abroad as senior middle school students, for at that time they are both physically and academically ready to meet the challenges of cultural shock.

 5. Lecture or Discussion? As is known, the way of teaching mainly falls into two types: that featured by the teacher’s monologue or lecturing and that characterized by discussion or interaction between the teacher and students and among students themselves.

Some students prefer the former way of teaching. They regard discussion in class a waste of time and cannot wait to get the right answer to questions directly and immediately from the teacher.

Others, however, like discussions better. They do not want to let others tell them the key to a problem. Nor do they believe that there is always one right answer to a question. They wish to find out solutions to a problem independently. They enjoy the process of thinking and exploring and hate indoctrination and spoon-feeding.

Personally, I like a combination of the two and a flexible use of both, for I tend to believe that they both have advantages that cannot be replaced. For knowledge that is beyond doubt or far above student’s ability to comprehend, it is unadvisable to arrange discussions. The teacher’s direct imparting is more preferable. However, for questions that lack fixed answers or in case of students feeling bored by lecturing, discussion can be a wise choice.

( 二) 陈述利弊型 1 .Online Shopping There is no denying the fact that online shopping has been gaining popularity these years. Shopping websites have mushroomed and prospered, with transaction value constantly climbing.

Obviously, it has a number of advantages. In the first place, it"s a convenient way to purchase. People can buy things without going out. In the second place, goods online are usually sold at prices lower than in conventional stores, so we are more likely to buy bargains on the Internet. Last but not least, online shopping offers us a lot more choices of goods since we can browse online stores without the limit of time and location.

Nevertheless, as every rose has its thorns, shopping online also has demerits. For one thing, it is hard to tell whether the thing one search in an online shop is fake or not. For another, people can not check or try on the thing they buy until they receive it. An added risk lies with online payment, which hasn’t proved to be secure enough. One’s password may be stolen.

From my point of view, the advantages of online shopping outweigh its disadvantages. We may take advantage of it but we need also take measures to ensure that its disadvantages are reduced to the minimum so that it can serve us in a better way.

2 .The Text Message As we all know, angels and devils are two poles apart, but the text message combines them perfectly. Some people take it for granted that it is a blessing, while others argue that it is a curse.

As I see it, there is an element of truth in both views. On the one hand, it brings about many benefits. Firstly, messages serve as one of the most convenient means of communication. They are quieter and less expensive than talking on phone. Secondly, messages connect their users with the outside world. For example, people can subscribe to weather forecast or news through messages. On the other hand, text messages are never without drawbacks. To begin with, many unwanted and useless messages may waste people’s time or even disturb people. In addition, the appearance of text message also arouses people’s concern for their privacy. In case their mobile phones are lost or peeped upon, their privacy might be infringed upon. To sum up, the text message is a two-edged sword, which brings us both conveniences and troubles. Of course, we should not give up eating for fear of choking. The best policy, as I see it, is to take advantage of its merits and eliminate its unhealthy influence so that it can serve us in a better way.

 3. My View on Lectures on Campus One of the many attractions of life on college campus is the abundant lectures on almost all imaginable topics. Bulletin boards are usually squeezed with posters for various lectures: that on job seeking, on international politics, on nuclear power and even on dating and love.

Attending these lectures evidently does good to students. Among all the benefits, the most important might be widening one’s horizon. Most of the lectures address things that are beyond textbooks and course study. This is conducive to the cultivation of students’ interests in more than one field. Of course, some of the lectures are direct and useful complements to the professional knowledge learned in class.

However, problems also crop up in attending lectures on campus. For one thing, some students are bewildered by and get lost in the sea of lectures. For another, some lectures are far from well meant or properly delivered, which might prove a waste of time and even mislead the audience.

Personally, I hold that the lectures on campus should be supervised by relevant departments and be treated by students in a rational way. On the one hand, measures should be taken to ensure that the lectures are positive and constructive. On the other hand, students should attend lectures selectively and do not hesitate to leave once they find the lecture is undesirable. Only in this way can we really benefit from lectures on campus.

 1. My View on Fake Commodities Nobody could have failed to notice the fact that fake commodities have been a grave problem with which we are confronted. Fake and shoddy goods flood the market. Taking a look around, one can find examples too many to enumerate: pirated editions of books and films, food and drinks of poor quality and the like.

Fake and shoddy goods are bound to generate severe consequences if we keep turning a blind eye to them. First and foremost, they directly infringe upon consumers’ rights, wasting their money and threatening their health and even lives. Besides, the production and sale of fake goods cause serious losses on the part of honest and lawful producers. Last but not least, the destruction of fake commodities means a grievous waste of the nation’s resources.

Given the seriousness of this problem, effective measures must be taken before things get worse. First, it is essential that laws and regulations be worked out and enforced to ban the manufacture and circulation of fake and shoddy goods. Secondly, the public should enhance their awareness of identifying and refusing sub-standard commodities. With proper laws and an alert public, it will only be a matter of time for fake and shoddy goods to become things of the past. / With these measures taken, it is reasonable for us to believe that the problem will be solved in the near future.

  2. Limiting the Use of Disposable Bags ( (1 )

Nowadays we may find ourselves surrounded by a sea of disposable plastic bags. And recently the problems of using disposable plastic bags have been brought into people"s focus. First of all, the use of disposable plastic bags causes irreversible harm to our environment. As these bags are not biodegradable, they are blocking the drainage system and causing water pollution. What"s more, customers using disposable plastic bags may think that they are of great convenience. But what they don"t quite realize is that there will be remarkable negative impact on our health. And sometimes careless disposal of these bags may even poison some innocent animals. In view of the severity of this issue, effective measures have been taken in our country. There has been a strict limit on the using of disposable plastic bags in supermarkets, which not only enhances people"s awareness on environmental protection but also cuts down the cost of the running of supermarkets.

  ( (2 )

For many years we have been using disposal plastic bags when we are shopping on the market, and most often these bags are offered by the shops for free. This, undoubtedly, has brought us great convenience in our daily life.

However, its disadvantages are also very apparent, and I’ll just venture to explore two aspects. For one thing, the plastic bags are mostly indecomposable in the natural state so that with the increasing use of these bags, it will not only seriously bring about the so-called “white pollution” to the environment, it can also cost us a lot to have them decompose completely so as to minimize their damage to the environment. For another, the production of plastic bags are often not strictly supervised, so a large proportion of the bags don’t meet the requirements for healthy products, which means the more we use them, the more likely we are to suffer in health.

The negative effects of the plastic bags are far serious than what I’ve mentioned above, so it’s high time the government issued strict laws and measures to stop using the bags. By so doing, we can save a lot of money from producing these bags as well as return a cleaner earth to ourselves and the later generations.

  3. Due Attention Should Be Given to Spelling Nowadays, students attach less importance to the spelling of words in the process of English study, which can be reflected by the numerous spelling mistakes in dictations and writings. This phenomenon greatly influences students’ writing and brings about worries among teachers. There are possibly three reasons contributing to this phenomenon. First, exam-oriented education makes the students pay less attention to spelling. Second, some teachers should also be responsible for it because they don’t emphasize the importance of spelling during teaching. Last but not least, some students are too lazy to recite words. They tend to believe that with the automotive correcting function of computers, they don’t need to remember the exact spelling by themselves.

Since spelling is one of the most important factors in English study, due attention should be given to it. As for me, I think, first, exams should be modified to add some factors into it, which would help students pay more attention to spelling. Then, teachers can devise some activities to arouse students’ interest in spelling. Only by these means can students realize the importance of spelling and foster profound interest in it. .

 4. How Should Parents Help Children to be Independent

Nowadays, there is a growing concern over such a phenomenon, that is, some parents take care of almost everything concerned with their children, including study, work and marriage. Some parents believe that this is love, however, it is only to destroy children’s independence thoroughly.

For the future of the next generation, more efforts should be made by parents to help their children to be independent. The fundamental one is to cultivate the awareness, namely, the importance and necessity of being independent, which is supposed to begin from childhood. Children should be taught that no one can be stronger and more helpful than themselves in this world.

The quality of independence is so indispensable for us that parents had better act as a tutor,

not a dictator. And only with parent"s trust, can the next generation accumulate confidence step by step.

 5. Seat-Taking on Campus There is probably no college campus in China that is immune to the phenomenon of taking seats, especially in the study hall and the library. Raising the issue to almost any college students, you will get warm responses. He or she either has performed the practice, or has suffered from it, or both.

The bad influence of such practice is self-evident: it directly results in the waste of study resources. Though it can work to the interest of some students, it is a sheer infringement upon others’ right to study facilities.

But what has led to such a phenomenon on earth? A careful inspection may reveal more than one cause, but the leading one should be the conflict between supplies and demands for study resources. Along with the expansion of the enrollment of college students, the supplies of educational facilities are increasingly under strain.

To tackle the problem, a package of measures need to be taken. First and foremost, the whole state and institutions of higher education should exert their effort to meet the needs of increasing students while they are enlarging the enrollment. Besides, the management of universities should shoulder the responsibility of ensuring students a desirable study environment by banning seat-taking. Last but not least, students themselves should be aware of the consequence of the practice and take the initiative to resist it.

  6. College Students Playing Truant No one can have failed to notice the fact that truancy is getting increasingly serious in some universities in the past years. Sometimes, even less than half of the students in a class attend the lecture. This can be best crystallized by the constantly updating means of checking attendance by teachers or the management.

A number of factors may be responsible for this phenomenon. Personally, I can come up with the following ones. In the first place, there exist faults with the arrangement of curriculum. In other words, some courses are irrelevant, or far beyond or below students. In the second place, some teachers are responsible. Their teaching is far from attractive or efficient. Lastly, there exist reasons on the part of students, many of whom have become restless under the influence of some social trends.

This phenomenon is definitely unhealthy and requires remedying. Naturally, measures should be taken in the three aspects mentioned above. For one thing, the school should keep perfecting its arrangement of courses, rendering it more reasonable. For another, teachers should be constantly urged to improve their work. Last but not least, students should be reminded to be wary of some vicious trends in society and concentrate on their study.

  7. Food Safety There is no denying the fact that food safety is a grave problem with which we are confronted. Reports are often heard upon food products of bad quality. The most notable instances might be the notorious San Lu milk powder, swill-cooked dirty oil and the so-called “lean meat powder”. Actually, the problem has become so widespread that it has severely affected people’s life and

 hindered the development of economy.

A number of factors account for the problem, but poor supervision and law enforcement might be the leading reasons. Actually, we do have such departments as the bureau of food safety supervision and administration and the bureau of industry and commerce in various levels of the government, but they are not really functioning or fulfilling their duties. In view of the seriousness of the problem, effective measures must be taken before things get worse. First, it is high time that pertinent laws and regulations were worked out and rigidly enforced to crack down on any prod...
